The programmable humanoid NAO Robot Evolution is completely autonomous and highly suitable for teaching, research, businesses, developers and hobbyists. NAO Evolution is an open platform and has the ability to learn and know to catch attention by his skills for good entertainment.

NAO Evolution is the result of an unique combination of mechanical and software engineering, it is a robot with a multitude of sensors, motors and software controlled by a unique operating system: NAOqi OS.

NAO is designed to be personalized, by using the Choregraphe software it is very easy to add new features and capabilities to the robot. It gives  the possibility to create NAO as your personal RoboBuddy.

It has 7 'senses' for natural interaction:

Moving: 25 degrees of freedom and a humanoid shape will allow him to move and adapt to the world around him. Its internal sensors enable him to keep his balance and to know whether it is standing or lying. A fall manager makes it possible to let the robot standup independently after a fall.

Feeling: The numerous sensors in its head, hands and feet, as well as its sonar sensors enable him to perceive his surroundings.

Hearing and speaking: With four directional microphones and speakers, NAO can work with people in a completely natural way, by listening and speaking. NAO is able to speak in a variety of different languages ??and is capable to understand them.

Seeing: NAO is equipped with two cameras recording his surroundings in high resolution, it helps him to recognize shapes and objects. NAO is thus also capable to recognize faces.

Connecting: It has independent access to the Internet, NAO is able to use a range of different connections (WiFi, Ethernet).

Thinking: We can't really talk about "Artificial Intelligence" with NAO, but the robots are already able to reproduce remarkable human behavior.

The NAOqi OS gives developers the building blocks for various robotic applications. Its state-of-the-art complex technologies such as voice recognition, object recognition and motion's capabilities provides the building blocks to create complex robotic applications. The embedded programmable robot software including fast, secure and reliable, cross-platform, distributed robotics framework provides developers a solid foundation on which robot applications can be developed. The SDK (Software Developers Kit) allows developers to program the robot in C++, Python and Java.
