The Alpha2 Social Robot is now called Lynx

 

The Alpha2 social robot is touted as the "world's first family robot". It looks very similar to the NAO robot from Softbank. The robot is available under the name Lynx via Amazon.

The robot is programmed to assist with various tasks such as household chores, reading to children before bedtime and turn off and on lights for their human buddy. But the robot can also be programmed via an app system to provide specialized services such as acting as a nurse with medical knowledge, teaching yoga or teaching languages ??to his human buddy. The robots have social programming skills that allows them to communicate with other robots and with these robots form their own social networks in the near future. This appears to be somewhat disappointing in practice.

The Daily Mail reports that the Chinese tech company UBTech provided full funding for there development through its "First Humanoid Robot for the Family" IndieGoGo campaign in November, raised now more than $ 1 million. The Alpha 2 is scheduled to be offered at a price that most families can afford at around $ 1300. The social robot was shown at the CES show in Las Vega where was announced the Alpha 2 to be on the market in March 2016.

The Alpha 2 should be able to perform household chores, to act as a friend and can be a yoga instructor. The Alpha 2 has 20 movable joints which makes it possible to move like a human being.
